Announcing the Broken Clock tour!
“I dream for the joy of freedom.”
“I dream for hope and second chances.”
“I dream for a world where every child feels safe.”
“I dream for a response to harm that doesn’t cause more harm.”
These are just a few of the dreams we heard from audiences at our fall performances of “Broken Clock.”
In 2025, the Maine Inside Out Creative Ensemble will be touring “Broken Clock” throughout the State of Maine. “Broken Clock” is an original play created by the Maine Inside Out Creative Ensemble about incarceration, gun violence, grief, family, trust, and time. MIO’s Creative Ensemble is a group of staff facilitators and Lewiston Community Artists using theater to explore themes connected to our identities, life experiences, and the world in which we exist.
“Broken Clock” takes place at the moment the clock breaks, where the separation between audience and performer dissolves, and we are here to meet ourselves and each other on a deeper level. Through film, theater, reflection, and dialogue, “Broken Clock” brings us together for challenging conversation and action. What are you dreaming for?

The Landing Pad
Lewiston Leadership Team member Bashir Matan greets Rayon Wilson, the guest speaker for the January Community Lunch.
MIO’s community programming kicked off last week with the January Community Lunch. The community lunches are a monthly meeting for MIO’s statewide network of Community Artists to break bread together, create art, and learn from a system-impacted guest speaker. This month's speaker was Rayon Wilson. Rayon spoke to the group about the importance of education and networking and how he built the skills and relationships to run his own business. This year, the guest speakers will be video recorded for a series called “Lessons Learned” that will gather stories and lessons shared by returning citizens in dialogue with MIO’s young adult community.
Save the date for MIO’s first community Open Mic of the year in Lewiston on Tuesday, March 18 at 6pm!
