The Permanent Commission on the Status of Racial, Indigenous, and Tribal Populations will host its first Community Forum on Thursday, December 9, 2021 from 4:30 pm until the end of community comments.
The purpose of the meeting is to create an accessible space where the voices of Maine’s historically marginalized communities can be amplified and heard.
Commissioners will share their vision with the public and will listen in turn, as the opinions and experiences of community members will help to guide their work to eliminate racial disparities in the state.
All are welcome and encouraged to attend, however Commissioners will prioritize hearing from African American, Black, Indigenous/Native, Latinx, Asian American and Pacific Islander, and other people of color during the comment period.
