Community Response
At Maine Inside Out we use art as a tool to active social change. Our art has always been created during the most challenging times and by those of us who have been pushed away the farthest by systems. We connect anyway, despite the obstacles and show up for each other to create something powerful.
When this pandemic hit, we knew we had to come together to show that we can overcome anything. When the racial uprising ignited, we knew we had to make art to bring everyone in to join this movement with us.
Thank you for joining us to experience the original film, music and poetry created by MIO artists during the summer of 2020. Now its your turn. We invite you to respond - to the artists collectively or to an artist directly - and share what is in your heart after experiencing this powerful work.
