Maine Inside Out creates theater for social change in schools, prisons and in the community. Maine Inside Out groups create powerful theater to inform and engage the greater community in dialogue about social change.
Schools
MIO collaborates with student artists to create original theater. MIO is currently partnering with Portland Public Schools in Maine.
Prisons
MIO collaborates with incarcerated artists to create original theater. MIO currently has a project at Mountain View Correctional Center in Charleston, Maine and collaborates with other MIO incarcerated artists in facilities in Maine and nationwide.
community
MIO collaborates with artists in the community eighteen and older who have been part of MIO projects. Artists create original art to initiate dialogue in their communities.
workshops
MIO offers theater workshops to groups in the community. MIO workshops support groups to build trust, deepen dialogue, and better understand ourselves and the world around us.
Fiscal Sponsorship
MIO supports artists and organizations in the process of resourcing their ideas, reducing the administrative burden on artists and projects and amplifying the collective community impact on social change through fiscal sponsorship.
